The TRumpet - And it begins...

There is no denying death, nor escaping it. It is an inevitable fact that everyone agrees with. It is a huge event in the life of an individual and his loved ones, but there is a day that is a much much greater event. A day when the Trumpet will be blown and everyone in the heavens and the earth will be struck with terror, falling to the earth as their souls depart. This is the beginning of the world that we called home for years coming to an end, and then life of eternity starts…

And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allaah wills. Then it will be blown a second time, and behold they will be standing, looking on (waiting)” [al-Zumar 39:68]

The Final Hour will start suddenly, and death will come very quickly not giving any notice or time to prepare – a man will milk his she-camel but will not be able to drink it, a man will raise a morsel of food to his mouth, but he will not be able to eat it. The angel assigned to blow the Trumpet is prepared, vigilantly waiting for His Lord’s command.

Life will be extracted from everyone by the Angel of Death, but it doesn't end there - next up will be the heavans and the earth. Nothing is spared as the world moves to its demise, except Allah and those whom He wills.

When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]. And when the stars fall, dispersing, And when the mountains are removed. And when full-term she-camels are neglected. And when the wild beasts are gathered. And when the seas are filled with flame. And when the souls are paired. And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked For what sin she was killed. And when the pages are made public. And when the sky is stripped away. And when Hellfire is set ablaze. And when Paradise is brought near, A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. [Quran 81:1-14]

1 EARTH AND MOUNTAINS:
The earth and the mountains will be removed from their places, and crushed. A violent shake will overwhelm them and the firm, heavy mountains will turn into a heap of fine sand poured out, and like flakes of wool, blown away, levelling the earth.

2 THE SEAS:
The seas will also not be able to escape that day. Water, the substance used to distinguish fire, will explode into a fiery blaze.

3 THE SKY:
The beautiful sky will shake with a powerful shaking, and be torn up. Its calming blue color will be forced to change, turning red and different colors.

4 SUN, MOON, AND STARS:
Our source of heat, light and energy, the sun, will be wound round and lose its light, and overthrown from its place. The moon similarly will lose its light, and be eclipsed, while the stars that fill the sky will fall and scatter, like being poured out.

These few words briefly describe events of The Last Day, and they may sound like a movie but it is only a matter of time when it will be a reality. The great event has been ordanied by Allah, and only He knows when The Hour will be.

Gravity of the Day

What if you were told you are being followed by secretive meticulous recorders. They do not give a hint of their presence, and you can never see them. They are observing you day in day out, jotting down everything you do, every single word you said from morning till night and not missing a single moment; everything being recorded in a detailed book. And that on The Day of Recompense we will meet these recorders, special angels assigned by Allah to record our deeds, and that our book will be opened before The Owner of the Last Day, holding us accountable for what we earned.

Will we be prepared to face our Lord that Day?Will we be prepared to have our book of deeds opened?

The enormity of The Day of Judgment cannot be underestimated. It is a tremendous day which has been vividly described by Allah and His Noble Messenger (pbuh), and we have been warned about its greatness by The Al-Mighty:

Do they not think that they will be resurrected. For a tremendous Day - The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? [Quran 83: 4-6]

The fear and terror will be so great that man will appear to be in a drunken state, unable to blink, or look left and right. Nursing mothers will forget their nursling, every pregnant one will drop her load, and the hair of children will turn grey-headed due to the Day's intensity. Blood ties will be severed as everyone will only care about himself. They will run away and hide from those dearest to them, afraid, concerned with what they did and what others will ask of them.

The disbeliever will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him,‘Do you think that if you had an earth full of gold that you would be able to ransom yourself with it?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ It will be said to him, ‘I (i.e. Allah Almighty) used to ask you for less than that.” [Al-Bukhari]

Allah only asked His creation to worship Him alone, without any partners. Those who opened their hearts and minds to accept His guidance will receive blessings and rewards for what they earned, even during the difficult Day. However, there are many who rejected His guidance, and due to their defiance they will be in extreme terror.

The hearts of Zalimoon will rise and choke in their throats out of fright, neither able to come out or return in their chests. The kuffar (disbelievers) will be prepared to give up everything to save themselves, be it the earth filled with gold or those dearest to them, but nothing will help. From Allah's Mercy He prolongs the time delaying punishment in this world, so that people may turn back to Him and mend their ways. Unfortunately the disbelievers used the time to increase in their ways of disobeying Him, following their desires, and then a day comes when everything finally catches up.

The King of Kings

Everyone upon the earth will perish, And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. [Quran 55:26-27]

Allah was there before He created our world, and will remain when it will be gone, in full control and power and command over everything. He will roll up the heavens and the earth on the Day of Resurrection, and grasp them in His Hands. Only He will be left when everything perishes and except those whom He wills.

The tyrants who took joy in overwhelming the weak, the arrogant kings who claimed to be powerful and full of might, and those who dared challenge their Creator, will all remain silent when Allah asks of them. Only His Majesty is worthy of wearing the cloak of pride, and robe of greatness. The rest will be in their graves waiting for The Resurrection to begin.

The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it. [Quran 21:104, 136]

Resurrection

Allah will create a new earth, a white land that is spread flat and wide as far as the eye can see. Despite its vastness it will be crowded, filled with everyone who was ever alive no matter where or how they died, or what remained of them.

After we are born and full of the spring of life, we get old, wither away and die. Allah will then send a special kind of rain, and from the decayed bodies a new creation will grow, once again life will be given to us - similar to how Allah resurrects the withered trees and plants. The Trumpet will be blown a second time, and we will arise and be witnesses of the promised resurrection.

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind. That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent. And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves. [Quran 22:5-7]

Man and Jinn born since the beginning of creation, and till the first blowing of the Trumphet will all be resurrected. Everyone will be gathered together, and Allah will grant us all a new life from which we will never get to experience death ever again. The acceptance of faith in Allah we had in this world will determine whether our end will be filled with happiness in Paradise, or whether the residense will be in a place that has no reprise. The disbelievers will wish for death but eternity in Hell Fire will be their reality, while the people of Paradise will have all their wishes and more fulfilled.

The events of the Last Day are real, Paradise and Hell-Fire are real, and the Resurrection is real. What will happen to us is all in the Hands of our Mericful Lord, and He alone is the Owner of guidance and Owner of the Last Day.
